WHERE THE DOMAIN KNOWLEDGE COMES FROM

Most data engineers learn logistics from a schema diagram. I learned it from a pallet truck.

I'm a data engineer specialising in logistics and supply chain analytics. Currently at Bestseller, building and maintaining ELT pipelines, dimensional models and data quality frameworks on Snowflake.

Before that, nearly three years at NORMAL A/S implementing a WMS for a brand new distribution centre: workflows, ERP integrations, operational dashboards, and a go-live. And before that, four years actually running inbound and internal transport at a high-volume DC.

So when a fact table says a pick took eleven minutes, I know what those eleven minutes looked like on the floor. That's the part that's hard to hire for.
